A little over a year ago, we transitioned the North Coast Masonic family’s monthly paper newsletter to an online format hosted at NorthCoastMasons.com. While it was nice to have the freedom to add articles whenever they were submitted, overall site readership has remained low and the number of articles submitted has continued to decrease. Furthermore, many former readers expressed a desire to have all of a month’s articles in a single digest which is why you’re reading this February 2025 newsletter. While I’m sure that there will be more adjustments along the way, here’s how things will be working in the future:
The newsletter will contain all the month’s prior articles posted to NorthCoastMasons.com. Anyone wanting to submit an article can do so by sending the article in plain text (no Microsoft Word documents, etc.) to the newly created email trestleboard@HumboldtLodge79.org. Pictures that you would like to include can be included as attachments or as links at the end of the article. Unless stated otherwise, the article will appear both on the website and in next month’s newsletters. Articles will be published in the chronological order in which they were submitted.
We recently launched a region-wide calendar at NorthCoastMasons.com. The current month’s calendar will be published as part of this newsletter. However, it’s always a good idea to go online to see the most up-to-date information. Senior lodge members or their concordant body equivalents can be given access to add calendar events. When adding an event, be sure to give your event the following prefix based on the body hosting the event:
Lodges
H79 – Humboldt (Eureka)
F193 – Ferndale
ER147 – Eel River (Fortuna)
SR106 – Six Rivers (Arcata)
CC45 – Crescent City
Appendant Bodies
York
Shrine
Scottish
CC63 – Camellia Chapter
RR76 – Rohnerville-Redwood
Youth Orders
RG216 – Rainbow Girls
JB86 – Job’s Daughters
And lastly, we would like to once again publish the list of officers for all masonic lodges in the area. Please send your name and optional contact information to trestleboard@HumboldtLodge79.org so that I may add it for future publications. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you at lodge.
